It is a very exciting time when you get a new puppy. This 1.5-2 hour consultation is designed to help you start as you mean to go on, that is preventing problems developing and having a happy and relaxed family pet. This is typically for new puppies under 16 weeks of age that are yet to develop behaviour problems. You may need a 1:1 behaviour consultation if there is a complex problem. A couple of small changes can make all the difference. We will teach you how to apply easy behavioural techniques so that you can make those changes now and avoid bigger problems later on.
This is a two pronged approach:
Obedience Training: Learn how to teach your puppy all of the essential obedience commands. Useful to teach helpful, polite sequences and also to increase mental stimulation thus preventing boredom..
Behaviour Modification: Learn how to respond in problem situations to subtly deter any unwanted behaviour and encourage a better behaviour. Your pup simply chooses to behave. Simple, kind techniques that make all the difference.
These simple tools will help you prevent and resolve any issues as your puppy matures.
The consultation will also include practical advice on caring for your puppy as required; feeding, sleeping, grooming and walking.
